Charging etiquette

  • Be considerate: Only occupy a charging bay while actively charging.
  • Stay nearby: Especially when using rapid chargers and move your EV promptly after charging.
  • Cable management: Ensure cables are neatly stowed to prevent trip hazards
  • Report issues: If you encounter any problems, report them to our 24/7 Helpline team.

Tariffs

Pricing is set per kWh and may vary by charger type, operator or location.
Check tariffs before starting your session via:
  • The Evolt Network App
  • The charger screen/local signage
  • Or Roaming partner apps if using an eMSP card.
All prices are inclusive of VAT, pre-authorisation charges may apply.
Please note that the local signage is the responsibility of the charge point owner.

DC Charging

(Rapid – Typically 50kW and above)

Before you start
DC chargers have tethered cables — you don’t need to bring your own.
Make sure your EV supports rapid charging (consult your vehicle manual if unsure).
Payment
Prepare your preferred payment method:
  • Evolt Network App
  • Evolt Network RFID card
  • WebPay
  • Contactless bank card, Apple Pay or Google Wallet (formerly known as Google Pay)
  • Roaming providers that we accept.

How to charge
  1. Present your payment method (card tap, App, RFID scan etc.)
  2. Wait for the system prompt, then plug in the DC connector
  3. Charging will start automatically after validation.
How to end a session
  1. Stop the session via your selected payment method
  2. Unplug the cable — if it’s locked, try pushing it in slightly before pulling again
  3. Stow the cable properly in the holster provided.

AC Charging

(Fast – Typically 7kW to 22kW)

Before you start
You’ll often need your own Type 2 cable.
Prepare your payment method and locate your charger as above.
How to charge
  1. Authorise your payment method — before plugging in
  2. Plug in your cable to both the charger and your vehicle
  3. Charging begins once these steps have been completed.
How to end a session
  1. Stop the charge using the same payment method you started with
  2. Unplug your cable from both ends
  3. Stow your cable neatly to avoid trip hazards.
